Whenever Jocke is in town we have an Asian dinner. Jocke is an old friend from school who has lived half his life in Madrid, Spain. These dinners are fun, because many old friends get together and the sukiaki is great.
Cornelia was really sick after Christmas, so we had to cancel dinners and meeting my father. Yesterday she was well enough so we went to Hannas cousins for dinner. Hannas cousins, Maria and Birgitta, are Cornelias idols.
This year we celebrated Christmas with Hannas family. And Santa came this year again. Cornelia and Axel were not afraid of Santa this year. Cornelia had her sucpiscions who really was Santa this year. Johan (Hannas brother) Axel and Hanna. Liljan (Hannas mother, Birgitta and Maria (Hannas cousins)
Helena (Hannas Aunt) Bosse (Hannas grandpa) and Göran (Hannas father)
In Sweden we celebrate December 24 (tomorrow). Today we are going to buy a Christmas tree, make the ham etc. Either you buy a normal red tree and it costs around 150-200 SEK ($20) or you buy a king tree and pay twice the price. I wonder what it will be this year.
The kids an I try to do fun things, even though they are sick. We have visited the culture house, we have seen toys at toy stores and we have visited the gardens of Rosendal. Today we will buy the ham for Christmas and maybe some christmas gifts.
I had plans for this week. Letting the kids go to day care, so that I could just relax. But Cornelia got sick and now Axel again, so my vacation disappeared...
Yesterday it was decided that Hammarby Soccer will get a new arena, taking 25.000 spectators. I don't know if they have decided which proposition to go for, but I believe my father was part of the proposition on the picture. It would be fun if my father won, doing an arena for Hammarby, since he is supporting a competitor team Djurgården...
I got an email the other day from Svenska Spel, where they wanted to take a cup of coffea with me since I will leave GTECH. It was the maintenance department. We have worked 5 years together. When I came there they had baught a big cake and a gift. The gift was a Hammarby shirt, signed by all the players in Hammarby. We sat there talking for a while, and suddenly another Svenska Spel employee came by with another gift; a bag full of Svenska Spel T-shirts, a soccer ball and a book. They are so nice at Svenska Spel. I almost feel like crying.
At 7.15 in the morning, we went to day care. The children sang Lucia songs. They were outside this year, so they had their Lucia costimes on top of the overall. Claes (Ramses dad) and I
At 6.15 there was a knock on the door. In came Björn and his daugher Malva, sang some Lucia songs and gave us buns and "glögg" (warm wine). It was a great surprise!
Hammarby played 2-2 against the Danish team Midtjylland yesterday. It was a great game. Hammarbys goal keeper was not playing good and he made a misstake, which led to one of the Danish goals. The you keeper was sad in half time. At second half, when Hammarby player Pauliño scored, he ran 50 meters just to hug Hammarby goal keeper. That is what I call team spirit.
After the dance, we wnt to the cinema and saw Pettson and Findus. It was the first time Axel wnt to the cinema. Both Cornelia and Axel loved the film and all the candy they got...
Hanna went to a party on Friday, so she was a bit tired on Saturday. I brought the kids to Astrid Lindgen land - Junibacken. This is a house on Djurgården, which is so fun. You get to go in a track in Astrid Lindgrens stories. You get to run around in houses and see theather. Today it was Mamma Mu. We had some pan cakes and then Cornelia went to her friend Alice.
NK had a Santa as well. But the kids were afraid of him and refused to sit in his lap. Cornelia spoke some with him though to get a cake from Santas basket.
One of the biggest stores in Stockholm, NK, is famous for their Christmas window display. Cornelia, Axel and I went there on Friday. They enjoyed it a lot.
Yesterday there was a Christmas party at Hennes&Mauritz and even though I am not starting until next year, I was invited. I had mixed feelings before I went there, because I thought I wouldn't know anyone. But I met many new people and some that I actually knew, so I had a fun time.
Axel has a blister which prevents him from going to day care. Hanna and I have divided the days and been working half days to taking care of Axel half days.
We had dinner and drinks with Spielo yesterday. We started at Texas Long Horn and moved on to the Ice Bar. The Ice Bar was fun. You get to wear a silver jacket and everything is made of ice, even the glasses.
Today we have visitors from Canada. It is Spielo, which now is a GTECH company. They do the VLTs and GTECH does the central system. Maybe we will go to the ice bar in Stockholm today...
Today we woke up late. Cornelia has drama and dance and you need to be at day care at 8.30. However they were in such a good mode, so I never got to be a stressed out bad dad. And they brought their babies to day care.
Cornelia and Axel got new helmets and Cornelia wanted to go to Kronobergsparken to try her sledge and new helmet. The snow was hard and we went fast. I was scared, but Cornelia loved it.
Johan Nordenadler invited us to Christmas dinner Friday. We started at 3 in the afternoon at Gondolen, moved on to Café Opera, Hotel Plaza and finally I found myself standing with a Gin&Tonic at White Room 3 in the morning. I got to sleep 2,5 hours that night, but it was worth it.
